Grand Opening

If you've checked your mail in the last week, and are invite worthy, you know first hand whats up . That's right people, just as the song says, there ain't no stopping us now. Marieta & I have launched our wedding website. Could this be more of a 21st century love? I wish it was the 22nd century and I could send you all R2 units with 3D hologram projections letting you know about our upcoming nuptuals, but I guess "save the date" cards & a website will have to do. So what's the story with the site? Well there is a lot of info up there. Particularly useful for those flying or driving in for the shindig. MY FAVORITE PART is the Our Videos page of course. It's pretty bare at this point but I take complete responsibility for that. We shot something special for save the date but I wasn't pleased with the final product. I guess it will be doomed to the DVD goodies. Not that cool to have the big launch & not finish up the site but we'll be po

Bond Gone Bad

One of my favorite past times is following the movie news. I'm not talking about gossip or box office garbage (even though that can occasionally be interesting). I'm talking about script purchases, director news releases, and juicy tidbits like this little gem. Sean Connery wants to play a Bond villian . Excuse me, but is that not the greatest idea you have ever heard? Its common knowledge that Sean Connery is the most beloved Bond of all time. Could you imagine how amazing a 007 flick would be where a former Bond pays the villian! I am getting giddy about it already and its only a talked about prospect. I hope someone powerful in "the industry" reads this and sees all the dollar signs because wow, I would see that flick like for or five times.

The Payout

I feel like writing a movie called The Payout. It could be about a guy who has a lot of gambling debt and cant make any bets around town. He somehow makes a bet through a little known bookie and wins a boatload of cash. So he's collecting his money and starts thinking about splitting town because he thinks no one knows about his score; but of course, he's wrong and all little past gambling demons come back to haunt him as he's fixing to jet... Yeah... I actually just came up with that. The real reason for this post is to let you know I am getting just over 7.5k from insurance for my stolen car. (Is it lame to reduce money to single digits if its not in the millions or billions?) So this is turning out to be okay. I was hoping for a payout of around there. Now I just have to spread it around wisely. Invest in myself, my future... you know what that means ... Also, I saw this piece on current about an application on facebook called "Carpool." Basically its a way f

BYOBW 2008

Okay, so it may be 12 hours late but here it is. I had a lot on my plate yesterday afternoon; a nap, make dinner, edit this down from all the raw... Sorry, but a post at 4am will have to do. Enjoy. Also: Here's the goods from March 19th; i.e. the 5 year anniversary of the Iraq invasion. I could have posted this on Thursday but I got lazy and quasi-busy. I hope you're all having a fantabulous Week. I am. Hopefully today AAA will show me the $$. Time to get to work!

Money Where My Mouth Is

Starting April 1st @ 12:01 I will embark on a scriptwriting challenge to write 100 pages of scripted material in 30 days. ScriptFrenzy.org . I don't want to tell you to much about my idea other than it's a road trip movie with three friends. I would put it in the vein of Little Miss Sunshine for 20 somethings being the main characters. Yeah. I don't know about that though. I'm tired of things being compared to Little Miss Sunshine. All right. Well I have some other goodies to show you later this afternoon; how I spent my easter Sunday and the insurance payout quote from AAA. BUT ALL THAT MUST WAIT! I shift is about to end and I will soon dash home and take my nap. Waking up at 3am can be a killer.

Why NCAA Football & Basketball Suck This Year

So I'm watching the tournament the past couple of days and I realized that I don't have a horse in this race. Yes I want Kansas to represent the big 12, and I would love Drake to go deep (too late for that); however, I really don't care. After some confusion about this whole ordeal I have figured it out. Earlier this week I was watching Pardon the Interruption and Michael Wilbon made a very true comment. There aren't any GREAT teams this year. I don't care about UCLA, Kansas, Memphis, or UNC. They don't seem that good. I think last years Florida would destroy them all. For the past few years there have been some amazing teams; Florida repeats, UNC and Illinois were insanely good in 2005, UCONN was a powerhouse for years... Great teams. Now am I bothered by the fact no team stands out this year? Eh... a little bit. The same goes for NCAA football? Who was amazing this year? No one. The upsets were amazing, but maybe they shouldn't be considered upsets if sup

Man on the Street

Why type it out when you can just show it! Okay that was damn short. But I was the man on the street. KPIX ran on over an hour of my footage. Some of it hit the air but since it was kind of poor quality most of it was just left on the web. It's missing some of my favorite parts (people burning money and being slammed face first into the concrete.) Anyway, Click here to see what KPIX did post. A few hours before this I used my break to shoot some video of my own. The quality is much better. To check that out, you'll just have to wait till I edit it!

Get Your Popcorn Ready

I am about to have a camera strapped to my head and I'm gonna walk around the streets of San Francisco documenting all the protesting. This is awesome. It's all gonna be streamed over CBS5.com Needless to say... this could possibly be the greatest day of my life. Who's got my bail money? I'll be back later to update you on this all.

Funny, be thy name

This is beyond ridiculous. Jonah Hill likes the man on man love

Explain This to Me

So in the mid 90s there was a massive campaign labeled "Character Counts." It appeared mainly to keep kids off drugs, away from the streets, and just not be jerks. Over the last few election cycles it appears one of the major points of political pundits is candidate likeability. After all the recent scandals in American politics it appears character may count, but its immeasurable. Reading about former New Jersey Governor McGreevey (the guy outed for having a gay trist while in office) I am amazed that these people can slide past all the scrutiny of a campaign. Spitzer, McGreevey, Mark Foley, Larry Craig, the Governator... It appears that the media thinks these sex scandals are bigger than they actually are. I mean hiring a prostitute is illegal, and using state or federal funds for your love romps should be punishable by castration but I dont think the public cares. Bill Clinton was more popular after Lewinsky than before. Maybe it endears the public to them, makes them hum

Stolen Car: Day 10

Marieta and I drove down to LA this weekend to see the fam and celebrate my moms birthday. T'was all right. I gave my mom a bunch of chickens, Marieta got to do some wedding stuff, and we said goodbye to Meg as she took off to El Salvador for a week. Megan is working with Habitat for Humanity down there. Since she is fluent in Spanish she most likely being used like crazy. I don't know if she is the only spanish speaker but chancer are pretty good she is flying solo. Last year this group did the same thing sans native tongue. Good Luck kids. My parents have been extremely kind as to lend me their 1998 Geo Prizm. You may remember I drove this car for like 6 months my Freshman year of college. It gets the job done. When I must drive (which is pretty seldom) I can drive this guy. Thank God for parents with cars to spare. In other news, I am excited for the possibility of getting a check from my insurance. I will pay off my credit cards and put some of the money towards a Macbook P

The Next Movie I Will See on Opening Night

Now I say something like this quite often, but Monsters vs. Aliens will be the greatest animated movie of all time... if done the right way... and by the right way, I mean none stop ridiculous looking aliens and monsters. Check out this poster: That giant hamster with the claws has me locked in. I am in love. And on the opposite end of the spectrum. Why the hell was Madonna nominated for the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? Isn't she a Pop artist? What part of her act is rock n roll? She is barely a musician! Not cool. That is all for now.

The Greatest Thing Ever

Now I may be known for gross overstatements... but this the greatest thing ever .

Witnesses to the News

So much good stuff that I have to do this. Enjoy! Possible paperview showdown coming between a reporter in the field and the in studio anchor. When you make a news package about a pedophile like this... it writes itself. We all have an encounter with someone like this . Supposedly water w/drugs in it is news... I'm sorry but I remember this story from like '96. Some people love conspiracies (I'm on of them). NOT KURT ! You & I are dumb, or just really underestimate ourselves ... Would Bush veto this ? I love when food critics just lambast someone

Contingency Plan

If I have to... I will . Smart Car, that's my next. If my rolla is on a never ending journey than I wish it well. Okay, I'm getting a little ahead of myself and I could never drive a whole crew of peoples around but think of the gas mileage and parking. In San Francisco, parking is something always on your mind. Another big plus is the crash test rating is pretty good and people are reportedly very comfortable. They start at 12k and make turns like you never dreamed. Why not a mini? Well new, they are over 20 grand. That's too much and I am just not sold on them as good cars. Gas and what not. Stylish yes, but that's never been my thing. More later

Stolen Car News

It's 4:30am, I'm Stunt Bunny, this is your Stolen Car Update. Last Friday I told you of a story of my Car being stolen some time between 9pm Thursday night and 3am Friday morning. While it was extremely lame, there is pretty much nothing I can do about so why get beat up over it? While we have no news on the cars whereabouts, we do have insurance information. After speaking with Alison from AAA, standard partice dictates that I have a two week window where AAA waits for information on my car. If there is no word of its whereabouts or it isn't found by the two week mark, AAA will begin the "totaling" of the car. "Totaling" means fill out some extra paper work to figure out the value of my car at the time of the theft and issue me a check to that amount. Now, this is the interesting. As you know, my car was involved in a hit & run back on 12/28. It turned out my car was worth over 6 grand. Now I've only added about 600 miles to my car since then s

LET'S GET NBA CRAZY! I think this year (while being the most exciting in the past 10 years) has some of the most awesome and heinous trades ever perpetrated. Shaq to Phoenix ruins their inside collapsing offensive game and J Kidd in Dallas makes them defensively slow. Kidd can't defend all the young and up tempo guards of the west. Let's take a look at the standings as of today: Sorry this is so ugly... The East? Pathetic. New Jersey is 9 games under .500 today. That is ridiculous. Yes, I think the NBA playoffs need to be remade to allow only .500+ teams in damn the conference but I don't want to talk about that. Dallas is disgusting since picking up J. Kidd. Besides the obvious of pulling J Kidd in the final minute (because he can't shoot), the man can't keep up with the west. Giving him an extension will kill Dallas for years to come. Giving up Devin Harris has pretty much doomed them. I understand the feeling their window is closing and they need to strike no

Zedonk

I'm sorry... but this needed it's own post. BEHOLD! ZEDONK!

CBS 5 on the CW

So there are some big new things happening over KPIX (one of my three jobs). There is a new show at 10pm over on the CW. I'm not too sure about it. First off, it's basically the 11 o'clock an hour earlier. So not only will this be "rehearsal" for the 11pm it will cyphen a portion of the viewers from the 11 who want to go to bed earlier. Thus both shows will look poor. Second, who do they think is watching? The lead in program to the 10pm show was Girlicious . Not exactly family fun. Infact it is a a show for college kids, high schoolers, and twentysomethings. So when they see some middle-aged dudes in suits acting all professional following up their show about girls poledancing and flashing their goods what do they do? Flip the channel before we get the first word out. In the short-to mildly long term I am not seeing this as a good thing. Infact I think it is off to a poor, poor start. If you want to attract advertisers to a cable network aimed at the 18-24 demog

Another Gem

In the Spring semester of 2003 a former roommate of mine needed cash. Who did he turn to? His friends. Did they hand him the money? Nope, they had one simple request... Pee your pants and we'll give you a few bucks. Are you starting to get it? I have miles and miles of tape. All of it ridiculous.
