Go Cubs Go

Image
Three-year-old Pat repping the Cubs (and some awesome war wounds from my attempts to ride my tricycle through a brick wall). For the entirety of my 34-years on this Earth I have been a Cubs fan. Born in Chicago, descended from at least one die-hard Cubs fan, my Grandmother Constance Catanzaro (and one White Sox fan, Joseph Catanzaro), I have always loved the Chicago Cubs. One of my oldest Chicago memories is going to Wrigley Field with my Grandma, my Mom, and at least one of my aunts (maybe others) and sitting in the stands enjoying one of those frozen chocolate malts you eat with a wooden stick. Now there is a picture of a five year-old Pat wearing his Grandpa's Chicago White Sox cap, and I did root for them in 2005, but such is to be expected in a divided family tree. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a baseball obsessed sports fan. Basketball is my number one (Hard not to be with MJ and the Bulls dominating your youth), But the Cubs have always been my baseball...

Infatuated

Podcasting has sunk its teeth into my me and I love it. So I have a list to the left here of podcasts I dig and a few links. Well that doesn't really do this story justice. I have subscribed to about 15 podcasts on iTunes and later tonight I'm guessing I will up that to 30. Back in college when I was delivering pizzas I thought Sirius was the best thing on Earth. Good music, good talk radio, and a couple years later... Howard Stern (give me a paragraph before I can explain this). With Terrestrial radio the commercials were endless and the signal constantly waxes and wanes, and in a market like Des Moines the name of the game is national syndication; however, Sirius digital content, music channels commercial free, celebrity disc jockies, comedy channels, news channels, every sport I cared about (minus baseball, stupid xm). It was a match made in heaven. Now Podcasts, this is an entirely new beast. Sure there might be a commercial or two sprinkled throughout but it is the definit...

Southside with the Devil

For some reason I feel this show go here. 5 o'clock I am meeting up with Hannah to trek down to the show side to watch the sox sweep the Astros. I told her I wouldn't wear a cubs shirt but I just can't do that. So to make her feel better I am gonna wear my jacket with the cubshirt underneath. I mean a true sports fan can't give in because of pressure. Right? Well that's how I see it. I don't want to ruin her evening by getting jeered all evening so I'll keep it under wraps. I don't hate the sox I am just a cubs fan. I would wear a Joe Crede jersey (I lvoe that guy) but alas I don't own one. I would get a Jacque Jones (cubs) jersey but I don't think he is gonna be around long enough to warrant owning it. Allright well that's the story with that. . I like this set up prehappenings I can blog here but to get the taste of the goings on you gotta hit up blogspot. Nice. Well I'll tell show you pics and what not later. Love you homies.

It's late, so let's ramble

Man I didn't have class today. It was pretty sweet but now that it's almost one and I have class at eight am... I really wish I hadn't slept in till 11. It could be worse, I figure if I hadn't gone and worked out for an hour today I probably would be up till about 2 or 3 tonight sleepless. Oh well. I started playing ESPN NBA 2K5. I got it for christmas but had yet to play it until today. I was a little hesitant because I heard a shit load of bad reviews for it but man, it is way better than that NCAA 2005 game. It's fun to play, the reaction is realistic. Momentum and shit. Oh yes, it's nice. Of course, my team is the Bulls and we be throwing down. We've only lost four games. Let's see I think they were Suns, Kings, and... can't remember the other, oh well. I can't wait to go see the Bulls play the Wolves on the 13th. Chels and I are gonna go. It is gonna be sa-weet. Hell yes. i was looking at how much replica Bulls' jerseys cost. They are ex...
