Chicagwonese as a second language

I now live in Oak Park, 9 miles from downtown chicago, 10 feet from the city limit, and all is well with the world. Well I guess I am still unemployed and our apartment is kind of a mess but damn it all can still be well. Right? So Marieta has been sick the entire time we've been here and we haven't gone to the city yet but the world is still well and all. Who cares that we haven't found our doughnut shop or pizza place yet but it's still kosher up in this mug. I promise to have some pictures of our place up in this mother before too long. I just need to get my crap straightened out and find my digicam. Keep it crazy, P@.

As I sit here drinking a Quart of Milk...

.I can't help but think that last night was one of the best basketball games I have ever seen. The Wizards owned the game most of the way but the fourth quarter who showed up? Ben Gordon. If you don't know who Ben Gordon is just know he is the Bulls fourth quarter assassin. The man was 9 for 9 with three pointers last night. He had 32 points. That means only 5 of his points were not three pointers. It was amazing. Gilbert Arenas (the cocky bitch who practically is the Wizards) was destroying the court up until the fourth quarter where he didn't even take a shot. Just beautiful. The Bulls won it on Gordon three with a minute left and Nocioni taking a charge. Those two guys are indespensible. The only downside of the game? Bill Walton was the color commentary guy. I hate that fool. Not only does he bring up UCLA at the drop of a hat but comments like "Scott Skiles must be seriously worried, his team needs a time out," with the game only two minutes in and the wizar...

Getting a little excited

I need this poster and I need to go to this. I am freaking out man! Today I am pretty much all packed up minus my computer and clothes. So what do I have to do besides look for cool things to do in Chicago and man have I found some. I have found several websites that are rocking with cool things to do. Besides concerts, cuisine and cubs games there are a billion things going on. Check this site out: Chicago Latin Film Festival. Is that one of the coolest things ever? I am a sucker film festivals. Hell! I'm a sucker for festivals of any sort. All right, I have only really started to look for cool crap to do but the choices are endless. I love chicago. I only wish I could go to the final regular season game of the bulls. Oh well, I'll go to the home opener next year! Everything is rocking, changed my addresses on bills and what not, set up utilities, eating the steaks we got for free from valentines day. Everything is rokken like dokken. WALOOO!

So most, if not everyone knows; I am moving to Chicago. Come April 20th I will officially be a Illinois resident. Well I guess it's not official till I get my drivers license but... it is pretty exciting. God you have got to see are new apartment. I only have a couple pictures. I didn't take pictures of the inside only videos. Here is the building from the street (the street that is the Chicago City Limit): It's a Vintage Building. I love vintage buildings/apartments. Marieta does not but the apartment was a perfect mix of vintage and modern. The modern part is the kitchen. The landlord, Don, recently redid the kitchens of each place and they are awesome. Here are some pictures put together in a collage. We borrowed this collage thing from this place that set us up with the apartment: Okay so this picture thing shows that the apartment is kind of nice but it doesn't show you how big it is. Here is a floorplan that I made the other night. It isn't exact but it is ext...

Are you a first round fool?

For all you people who say the first round is great because of all the upsets, you must not watch any basketball all year. What teams went down in the first round that were "locks" to advance. I mean Kansas was young, Syracuse underachieved all years, Iowa is a perrenial up and downer, and Oklahoma was luckily hobbled their way through 4 straight one point wins at the end of their regular season. So NO!!! The first round is where we learn that some of the big schools are pretenders and teams like Bradley and George Mason aren't given their credit. College basketball regular season is solid across the board. Teams are scouted and destroyed all year long. If Bradley played Duke year in and out they would have a competitive record with them no matter what blue chips duke gets. All right, so why is the third round the best? Because in the third round we get to see monster combat. LSU was rollin, Duke was hitting every bump in the road, WVU was rolling, Texas was rolling fast...

Besides my losing, last night was awesome

So let's look at this week

First off: I ran 10 miles on Monday. To me that's a pretty big deal. Before a couple weeks ago 4 miles was my ceiling now I'm close to my June goal of the dam to dam 20k race. I'm running it man. Think I'm crazy, all right I might be but I'm doing it. I am only 2.4 miles away from the distance of the Dam to Dam. I am gonna run another 10 tonight, so eat it. Second: my computer has been in the tank for a little while and the repair guys came out, tried their best but could get it to work. Today they said my computer must have been retarded or something. Well I was drinking the Kool Aid for a while but I refused to give up on this puppy who has been my best friend for the last 5 years. So I DLed the windows service pack 2 and a couple of other goodies. Voila! My computer is up and running. I am a genius. I can go the distance and I can repair a computer left for dead by gurus. Third: I have applied for 4 jobs this week. I am awesome! Now if only I had a job this would...
