Same-Sex Blitzkrieg
Monday and Tuesday I'm doing the live roving webcam deal. This time its the Same Sex Marriage coverage. Last night I covered the reception of the first same sex couple in SF to get legally married. Del Martin and Phyllis Lyons, who have been together over 55 years, were married by the Mayor of SF, Gavin Newsom. The place was crazy. A few hundred people, a big cake, a lot of press. It was fun. It's kind of nice to be at this historic events, even if it is only coverage for work. The only funny thing about yesterday was when the crowd started clearing out, after the Mayor and the couple left the reception, the press people (camera, sound, lighting guys) all swooped in and got a piece of cake. Sadly, I was a floor above the action so I didn't a piece.
What happens today? A boat load of marriages on the spot at city hall. check out cbs5.com and I'll be the live webcam covering the event. Have a tasty Tuesday.
