Uploading Tear

This is ridiculous . How old are those boys? 14 and 15 years old. I know what you're thinking. Why put this on the internet? Well lets just say it is so bad... that its good. Meow , made back in 97 from an idea of Brian Hogan's. He plays the villian Chuck Bruce (named after the notorious school bus driver), Chris is Frank, and Elliot is th Private Eye. I am mainly behind the camera with only an off screen cameo in the early going. You guys gotta let me know if this even remotely funny. Is there even earlier stuff? Oh yeah there is. Mostly embarassing video of Chris and I shooting hoops in 7th grade and blowing up peanut butter with firecrackers. I wont waste bandwidth with that garbage; however, know that if I have it on tape, it will most likely end up on the net.... mwa hahaha! Another note on Viddler before I go, isn't that interface really clean? Can you tell how I fall in love with a website and have trouble letting go? Peace

Reliving College

Image
Thanks to the wonders of a T3 connection (or whatever corporations run on these days) I have uploaded over 100 pictures that I smartly backed up on disc from College. College I only have a couple of comments on these photos. Everytime I see this photo I am dumbfounded by the length and crazy curliness of my hair. I don't remember it but the photos prove it was so. I would give anything to rock again.

From the Archives

I am in the middle of a really big digitizing project and let me just say- I have a LOT of old local footage from DSM. Here is a clip from a show Duck and Cover played in Omaha back in 2003. P.s. I don't know if you have heard of viddler ... but the quality is excellent AND you get a bigger picture than youtube. Check it

Jimmy Kimmel is the New King of Late Night

These two videos won me over. Watch them in this order. 1) Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon 2) Jimmy Kimmel and Ben Affleck I will now turn to Kimmel for all my late night needs (until Conan takes over for Leno) . P.S. this gives me hope for the Harrison Ford goofy / Steve Martin straight guy slapstick comedy.

Waiting for the Oscars

Tonight is the Academy Awards, and yes, I love them. Yes yes, I have said in the past that award shows are basically big circle jerks where industries look at themselves in the mirror and hand out awards to the most visible among them (not necessarily the best). But these are the Oscars and as I admitted back at Thanksgiving I am starf*%#er of a certain degree and I love movies. It's a shame I haven't seen all of the awards up for the big awards but you know I see what I have time for. Tonight I hope for D.D. Lewis, PTA, Once, and Juno to get the shaft. Something I really want to turn people onto is Current Tv . I had never heard of it before a few weeks ago when I was talkign with some co workers. They are real viewer submitted video oriented. Like Youtube but with a more community and education oriented. I love it. I could sit with it on all day. Marieta may get sick of it but I love each thing I see. That's it for now. I'm working at kpix tonight so I might check in ...

The Dude Was Being Strangled

Coming out of a coffee shop on the corner of Pacific and Montgomerry I notice up the way a short dude is STRANGLING a tall bald dude. Why? No idea. Now I would have ran and stopped the situation but as soon as I saw it others came over and the tall dude falls over to the street. As I advance on the sitch it is apparent Napoleon is not giving up the goods for his reason and walks off. People are saying "where are you going? We have your picture," and the like. He doesn't care. About 5 feet short black hair, thick well kept beard, bean shaped head, wearing a button down dark blue shirt and jeans. Walking off and obviously pissed. First time I've seen a dude strangled in person. Pretty crazy. He appeared to be all right as I passed them and walked back to work. In other news my starting five will crush Antwan's starting five! ME: PG: Chris Paul SG: Michael Redd SF: Lebron James PF: Shawn Marion C: Al Jefferson Antwan: PG: Baron Davis SG: Manu Ginobali SF: Kobe Bryant...

Trade Dealine

Thursday was another NBA trade deadline and in great contrast from last year; trades were huge and abound. The only teams that stood still in the first half of the season appear to be WEST: Golden Sate, The Clippers, EAST: Wizards, Pacers, Celtics, Bucks, Knicks. That means that 23 out of 30 teams were swopping players. Pretty impressive. I don't know last year for sure but it was more like 5 or 6 teams involved in trades. I'm not gonna break down the trades more than to say The Bulls are geniuses for somehow figuring out how to dump Big Ben on someone, The Cavs are fools for picking up two notorius malcontents, The Suns are complete wildcards, Seattle and Portland are gonna be insanely good in like 2 or 3 years, and I want the Hornets in the finals. God that would be a story, bad for David Stern... but a great story. I'll leave you with a good trade breakdown (albeit I don't agree with everything in it).

Three Films and a Story Board

Tonight is the night! Opening Night... Be Kind Rewind , the soon to be immortalized Jack Black filmspoofnig head tripping comedy. My expectations are so, so high... Normally that worries me, but I have heard nothing but good buzz for the film and praise for the director Michal Gondry. Last night I saw the trailer for the 1,372nd time, and besides the voice over, I still get excited by it. Marieta on the other hand had her usual to say "I'm not gonna lie honey... it looks pretty stupid." Oh babe, why can't you live in the sam earea of childish excitement that I do? I guess one of us needs to be an adult... no, I don't believe that! Adult Schmadult! I'M A TOYS R US KID! FO-EV-UH! I've been reading that thanks to Focus and New Line (the distributors) decision to release B.K.R. in stages, or "select cities," it's not expected to be in the top five releases this weekend. Now I just recently turned into a full fledged film fanactic so I don...

The Wedding and I

For our wedding I have picked out the Photographer, DJ, and I have been in the process of finding a videographer; however, it appears no one does both the quality of work that I like and/or offer the services I am looking for. Maybe that makes me a choosy little girl or something but when I see a video that is below my level of expertise I don't want to pay 1400 bucks for it. With that said I am embarking on something rather... adventurous! The new plan is to hire three students from ISU, screen em to make sure they know what they are doing, pay em a couple hundred bucks to shoot the whole thing, and edit down the whole ceremony myself. Sound ambitious? Hell yeah it is. But that will make the pay off all the greater. Now what else is going on with the wedding myself? Well you know I am currently writing music for the ceremony, well now that I'm going to videographize the thing I am also working on some trailers for the event. Save the Date will be the "Teaser Trailer,...

Possibly the Worst Thing in the History of Things

Let's just start with this . Now, I have to believe this is fake because it's just to horrible to be real. I want to you go read the whole article but here is a little tease: During the couple's first dance, Sjostrom complained of being lightheaded. Efkarpides thought his wife, a diabetic, needed sugar, but she collapsed. Second, I have found the funniest blog online ... well the morning news found it, but it is great. So yeah, I did survive my double from Sunday/Monday. I don't have much else to say. Other than I love you and hope you're doing well. : )

Ahead of the Curve

The west coast wont be able to see who wins the grammys or what the performances look like until 8p but guess what? I get the in house east coast feed here at KPIX. Nice little perk. Time Travelling was the working name of this post but you know what? That's not what is going on here. Should I spoil the awards show for my west coast friends? nah. I'll leave that to big fancy pants conglomerates like Mtv and Cnn. I will say the Foo Fighters did pretty for themselves. But the grammys are always a load. Each catagory goes to the easy picks. They don't challenge themselves to find the truly great tunes. Lame. In other news I have worked 5 hours of a 16 hour shift! Barack Obama is kicking ass and takign names! And this morning I went for a 2 hour bike ride with my beautiful fiancee! Rock! Oh that reminds me. If you want to check out what we look like engaged, check out these pictures . Irked

So one of the things that I was pretty much guarenteed wouldn't happen is about to happen. Tomorrow I will work 18 hours in a 24 hours span. (well technically 16 hours when you cut out the lunch time). It's got me kind of irked. Tomorrow I work from 245p to 1145p. Run home damn quick, hit the sack, and report back to the station for my 4a to 1p shift. Does that suck? yes, very much. So why don't I just switch my shift? Well everyone who could switch with me has made plans or is out of town so they can't help me out. So I'm pretty much stuck with this scenario... boo to life. There isn't really anything I can do to avoid it... lame...

How much would you need to be paid to kill a puppy with your bare hands?

This is deserving of its own post.

Shaq trade makes me think

It isn't official yet, but if Shaq is actually traded to the Suns... I am seriously intrigued about Miami. This is proves one thing; Pat Riley holds no delusions that he owes anyone anything, and I love it. Shaq supplanted your team as a viable candidate for the championship for two or three years but when you can't go, you can't go. Paying him 20 mil to get hurt, miss bunny shots, and complain? Forget that. With this deal Miami has pretty much said they care more about their future than loyalty to a legend. Their franchise is Dwyane Wade. If Shawn Marion gets extended, Marc Blount gets bought out, and Miami drafts well (they have their first round and Orlando's second round) they could be right back in it next year. If Miami ends up with a top five (3, 4, or 5) and the other teams (Minnesota, Seattle, New York, Memphis) go with classic bigs above them Miami could get a true point such as Derrick Rose and be in it for years. Miami may not have a dominate big but with ...

Babbling Scribe Podcast: Thrice as nice

If you want to hear my beautiful voice and some nice tunes please right click on the title of this post and click save as to listen, OR! subscribe to my URL in your Google Reader and you can see the audio little bar in the bottom of your feed window. So what do we have here? Well some talk about Juno, the superbowl, books, new york, and some good tunes. I hope you enjoy. Oh and yes, it is actually 4am here in California at the time of this posting. It may seem like I have some ugly hours but when I go home at 1 and take an hour nap... it starts looking pretty nice. Peace!

Catastrophe Tuesday

Well exactly it doesn't make her out to be pure evil but... it's pretty close. Hillary Clinton used to work for Walmart . Now you may say "Oh, big deal, who hasn't!" Well she was there in the late 80's when Walmart was fighting tooth and nail to keep unions out their business. When you're a big wig at possibly the most despicable corporation on the planet and you don't speak out about their business practices, you're not exactly a friend to the low income worker... Today, I'm working the morning shift over at KPIX so I'm off at 1p. I'll get my Obama vote in, go buy The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, take a snooze and finish up Podcast #3. So check back for that. If you need something to keep you busy, try this baby out . Oh and read about this... Obese people in Mississippi might be eating at home pretty soon... Peace! P.S. turns out one of my coworkers (Spencer) is also a Blogger. A USCB grad who spent some tim...
