The Boberg's And The Recession

Incase you missed it on Facebook:

Yes that is pretty funny but in reality the Boberg's could be real victims of the recession. California has the horrible privilege of being one of the few states where the state legislature needs 2/3s approval for a state budget to pass. In the past the state has gone months past the deadline for a finalized budget and lived to tell the tale. This year is not one of those times. California is officially out of cash and floating bills with "IOU's." Instead of having any legislation to put real pressure (say no pay till budget issues are resolved or fines of each days pay budget issues are resolved) on our state senators California pushes its problems to the people on the frontlines. Governor Schwarzenegger is mandating that state employees take two days off a month without pay to help make ends meet.

Now if Marieta worked for a hospital this wouldn't be a big deal, but that's not the case, and since she is the main breadwinner in our family... we're less than pleased with the state. This is the first time I have ever really felt the pinch of local politics and it's not pleasant. Moving to California has been great overall but if this is the reality now we seriously have to look at leaving... California dreamin' may be dead.
